Having the privilege of a crafty stay at home mom allowed me to grow up involved in the art world before I could even walk. Following that passion, I took all the art classes I could in high school and fell in love with sculpture and ceramics. But when faced with the decision of choosing a major and a career, I chose to get my AA degree in Graphic Design (the "safest" path for an artist).
However I quickly realized I didn't have a connection with digital art, and the idea of sharing my potential job with AI was a quick turn off for me. My parents didn't raise a quitter though, and I still finished my AA and graduated summer of 2026.
In the fall of 2027 I will start my BA in Spatial Arts with a minor in Art Education. I also plan to finish some Business certificates, with the hopes of opening my own art studio to support local artists and build community. This is by no means a "safe path", but challenges are what makes life interesting.
